Capital School’s doors were first opened in early 2014 by three partners who had previously worked together in another language school and wanted to do things a bit differently. James, Gill and Sally already had a wealth of experience individually and their combined skills ensured that every aspect of school life could be dealt with professionally and successfully.
From the start, the school wanted to ensure a friendly environment for all – staff and students alike. The school had to be a place where there was always support for others and where laughter was never far away. We didn’t want to create a stale environment with a focus on statistics and business. We wanted to create a warm family atmosphere. The lessons needed to be the best quality but also personalised, fun and relevant to all the students’ needs.
In 2015, the school became accredited by the British Council and we have continued to grow ever since. We have changed from 4 to 13 classrooms, with two student lounges, a separate teachers’ area for our staff to prepare lessons that continue to engage our students. We have taught students from 50 different countries and have experienced success at every level. Our school has grown in numbers but we still maintain the same principles. Our school is still a place where warmth and humour, security and respect are actively encouraged. We have staff who have worked together for years, teachers who return regularly, and students whose friends and family studied with us in the school’s early days. Who next will join our school to add a page to our story?
