Our Students

Capital School of English caters to a wide range of student types throughout the year. We actively try to ensure there is a good mix of different nationalities in the school at all times. In 2019, we welcomed students from 40 different countries, with over 20 different languages. We teach students who range in English language abilities from A1 level to C1. We teach adults and juniors. Students under 16 years old can join our Junior Summer Programme or choose to study as part of a group of other juniors. Those who are 16 or 17 years old can study on our adults programmes if they want.

Under 18s

We know how important it is for parents to feel assured that their children are well looked after and we have special provision for under 18s. Our Welfare Director, Sally Pennington, is also our Designated Safeguarding Officer.

To ensure that under 18s are protected, there are a number of added provisions:

  • Parents must sign a consent form before enrolment, detailing their child’s needs and requirements
  • In addition to the usual checks that our homestays undergo, all homestays for under 18s are specially chosen and are DBS checked
  • All drivers, including coach drivers, are DBS checked

Our aim at Capital School of English is to make sure that our students are safe, secure and happy at all times and thoroughly enjoy their time with us here in Cardiff.
